Available to buy now, published by Parthian Books. I illustrated the cover of Brenda Squires new novel, set in 1930's Berlin. and my copy has arrived
"Berlin, October 1933. Max Dienst has returned to the city he last knew as a student. He has been asked to cover the elections to the Reichstag. A colleague on the paper mentions the case of Geli Raubal, a young singer from Vienna who died in mysterious circumstances in the flat of her uncle. There is a botched death certificate but is it a hidden murder? Max thinks he may have a story, her uncle is the leader of a growing political party, a man who's seeking to change Germany and Europe. Her uncle is Adolf Hitler. " Brenda Squires

Our Book "Hiraeth-Stories from Welsh Patagonia"

Huge thank you's to anyone who has already bought the book "Hiraeth: Stories from Welsh Patagonia". It's available from The Coach House in St Dogmaels, Yr Oriel in Newport and I think it's in Custom House in Cardigan. And various other places! Or you can order it on Amazon. (But please buy local if poss)
Steph and I were at The House of Commons on Monday for a reception and presentation of the book and project. Feel very lucky that Steph asked me to illustrate it, and also pretty emotional to finally see all of Steph's hard work pay off.

Cardigan Castle commission

Last autumn I was commissioned by Cadwgan to create nine illustrations for the reopening of Cardigan Castle. The brief outlined the need for historical interpretations for the exterior panels to be displayed around the site.

I had a huge amount of fun creating these images, it was a total pleasure and the committee were very open to my input which was great.

Last month, the panels were finally delivered and installed. As you can see, I am very proud ...I am also squinting at the sun : /  ... I've photographed each panel and uploaded them onto my website, which can be found at www.lucy-burns.com

Temporary hold on my online shop- Will be up again soon!

I've had to put a temporary hold on my online shop but everything will be back up soon.

I had some unexpected set backs when ordering the print for my first Etsy sale, and so am now researching alternative printing companies in Wales.

I want everything I sell from my Etsy shop to be consistent in print quality and in the costs, so it didn't make sense to keep it live while I am trying out different different companies! Only a couple more to test, keep an eye on LucyBurnsIllustrates  X
